Today’s article is a continuation of last week. There was so much good stuff I didn’t want to inundate you with info.
Also, frames! Now we hammer this idea in the context of moving into empty space
But first, let’s understand “framing” from simple to more complex
Framing is dynamic; we have to continue changing them and moving away from resistance
By the end of this article, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to frame properly and save yourself a ton of energy on the mats.

Of all the things (concepts, principles, ideas, etc) in jiu-jitsu, one of the most misunderstood things is “framing”.
Chances are, you’ve heard this a million times “Stop pushing”.
I heard it too… all the way up until I was a brown belt.
A new black belt who joined the academy, a few degrees higher than me, would say this all the time.
“Stop pushing.” “You’re pushing too much…” “You keep trying to push me off you.”
I never understood what he meant.
I had two options: A) He’s full of it. or B) He’s right.
And the best way for me to find out was by paying him for a private lesson. This lesson changed everything; well worth the $100 I paid for it.
